NELSON'S RUNNING

RUNNING REPORT - 2015

It's the 10th Anniversary of my Running Report! Time, like miles run, seems to fly by and you don't realize how far you've traveled until you look back over your shoulder.

baltimore harborTravels (and mild onset of arthritis in my left knee) limited my ability to log the same kind of distance this year, but did afford me the chance to experience some "Rave Runs" in extraordinary locations. From the Hamptons, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica Beach to Baltimore Harbor, my Pennsylvania hometown and my beloved Riverside & Central Parks, I enjoyed all of Mother Nature's seasonal treats. My passport, as usual, got a workout too...and I got to pound out some kilometers in China (Victoria Peak/Hong Kong and Macau) and Australia (Sydney Harbor, Perth's Swan River).

My running partner, Amy Freeze, continues to be a great motivator as does my trainer, Josh, and running coach, Baker...with whom I get to enjoy our weekly adventures discovering hidden treasures in NYC's Central Park & environs.

Not so many races this year, but a busy life is a blessing and I was delighted, as always, to support my pal Kurt Fearnley in his spectacular showing at the NYC Marathon.

June
*Achilles 5 miler (44:43) Overall 1150/3260, Gender 835/1636, Age 67/132.

September
*Tunnel To Towers 5km. (31:50) A fun & moving experience to run with my new pal Stephanie Abrams as we retraced the course blazed by firefighter Stephen Siller on 9/11. Alongside thousands of First Responders and those sworn to protect our country, it was an honor to participate.

December
*Ted Corbitt 15km. (1:28:28) Overall 2905/4885, Gender 1795/2435, Age 136/201. Mild temps and a spectacular day made even better by my debut run with our new Team, Battalion. Great to have the camaraderie & support of other runners...not to mention, sharp looking matching shirts!

Looking forward to many more Miles & Smiles in 2016!
